Gurtimpu is the title of a sports-based courtroom drama starring newcomer KJR in the lead. This bilingual has been proudly produced by Gangaa Entertainments (of Sivakarthikeyan’s Varun Doctor and Shivam Bhaje fame). It is presented by Swastik Visions. About 85% of the film's shoot had been completed.
Helmed by Thenpathiyan, this Telugu-Tamil release is based on true incidents. Sindhuri Vishwanath, VG Venkatesh, Rangaraj Pandey and others are part of the cast. Ghibran of Saaho fame is setting the songs to tune, besides composing the BGM.
Speaking on the occasion, producer Maheshwar Reddy Mooli announced that the film tells the emotional journey of a man who, despite growing up in poverty, rises through the sports world to fulfill his dreams. He added that Gurtimpu captures the struggles, hardships, and challenges the protagonist faces in his quest for recognition in a way that will connect with everyone.
Coming with a 'raise your voice' theme, the underdog story is about India's biggest court battle. "When the world stayed silent, he chose to fight," the makers wrote.
Mansoor Ali Khan, Ajith Ghoshi, Vimal, Izabella and others are part of the cast. Vishwanath A is the cinematographer, while Peter Hein is the action director. San Lokesh and Ramu Thangaraj are the editor and art director, respectively.
