Director VN Aditya of 'Manasantha Nuvve' fame is doing a pan-Indian movie. Titled 'Phani', the thriller is produced by Dr. Meenakshi Anipindi of OMG Productions. Starring Catherine Tresa as the protagonist, 'Phani' will be released in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam. Besides, it will have a release in English language.
Marking the birthday of producer Meenakshi, it has been revealed that the film will head to theatres in June. The precise release date is yet to be made official.
Meenakshi, who is the sibling of director Aditya, is a music expert. At Meenakshi Suswara Academy in the US, she trains aspirants in Carnatic music and light music. "She also loves devotional songs and imparts training in the same to many. Phani marks her debut as a producer. She has set its songs to tune. We expect the songs to be a major asset," the makers said.
Shot entirely in Dallas in the US, the film also features Mahesh Sriram, Neha Krishna, Tanikella Bharani, Kasi Vishwanath, Ranjitha, Yogita, Prashanthi Harathi, Sanya, Akash, Anil Shankaramanchi, Kiran Gudipalli, Bala Karri, and Dayakar. Written by Padmavati Malladi and edited by Junaid, the film's cinematography is by Bujji K. The costumes are done by Meera Jagannath Raju. Pratyusha Mikkineni is the production designer. John Khan is the stunt director.
Phani has a mystical black snake at the center of the plot.
