Subham and Single are scheduled to clash at the box office this Friday (May 9). Subham is produced by Samantha Ruth Prabhu and features mostly debutants in main roles. On the other hand, Sree Vishnu, someone who is quite an established name, headlines Single.
All indications are that Subham stands a greater chance at eventually winning the BO race even though it is an all-new cast movie. Subham is a horror-comedy that seems to enter an unpredictable territory in the second half. Its Trailer is a winner as well. The performances are genuinely funny, if the Trailer is anything to go by.
In contrast, Single comes across as a done-to-death triangular rom-com with exaggerated situations and unrelatable conflict points. Sree Vishnu is an admirable acting talent but that's no guarantee that the comedy will be fruitful. The situations spun around the male lead and the two female leads don't seem inspired. Vennela Kishore's comedy alongside the male lead's is the only hope.
Eventually, Samantha's Subham will humble Sree Vishnu's Single at the box office.
