The exit of Deepika Padukone from Kalki 2 has left a void. Since she is a superstar actress with no match, who should replace her in the sequel, assuming that the script itself won't be altered by Nag Ashwin?
Prabhas' fans prefer Alia Bhatt. They believe that she is a performer par excellence, although her popularity among the Telugu audience doesn't match that of Deepika. "She has done a pan-Indian movie like RRR. Gangubai Kathiawadi saw her in a stellar performance-driven role. Brahmāstra: Part One – Shiva may have flopped, but she was good in it," a movie buff wrote.
Anushka Shetty is no longer considered an ideal choice by many, although many do see her as the best bet. "She looked tired in Ghaati. The film's box office failure is not relevant. What works against her is her unexciting screen presence. She is not magnetic anymore," a cine-goer added.
