Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle geared up for a worldwide release on September 12. Sony Pictures has struck gold in India with the unprecedented success of the Japanese anime.

In a phenomenal four-day run, the film has grossed an astonishing Rs 43 crore.

The film's performance has exceeded all expectations, and industry analysts predict it will cross the Rs 50 crore mark before the end of its first week. "This incredible trajectory not only cements its status as the highest-grossing anime film of all time in India but also positions it for a spot among the top five international films of 2025," a report by trade analyst Himesh Mankad stated.

Had it not been for this movie, Mirai might have performed better in the Hindi belt.

Demon Slayer was released in Japanese on July 18th. And it was a super-hit on its home ground. "The film broke several box office records and grossed $294 million worldwide in 38 days. It became the highest-grossing film of 2025 in Japan and the third highest-grossing film in the country's history," the movie's Wikipedia page says.
