It is possible that Kamal Haasan can't survive without generating controversies. That's his compulsive need for whatever psychological need. The other day, while in Bengaluru to promote the Kannada version of Thug Life, he commented that Kannada was born out of Tamil. Unless he apologizes for his remarks, Kannada groups will force distributors to ban his movie in Karnataka. The film is slated to hit the cinemas on June 5th.
Appearing in a podcast, Kamal Haasan recited propaganda political points that only a section of Tamiliians would relate to. As a DMK loyalist, he knows what noise he must make. "Every single piece of nonsense that Kamal spouts - from Akhand Dravidam to portraying Siddhars as leftist reformers to Kannada being the sister language of Tamil can be traced back to Dravida Kazhgham. He is a delusional dolt who does not know what he does not know," Tamil Labs 2.0 wrote, commenting on the debatable points of his interview.
Kamal Haasan ducks controversies in the Telugu States because Telugus don't care much about the political and ideological opinions of actors. A Tamil actor can literally say that Tamil Nadu is the most superior state in the country and Telugus won't mind anything. Probably, that's why Kamal Haasan doesn't speak politics or culture while in Hyderabad or Vizag. He knows his political comments won't get anybody's attention here.
