Here is why cinema theatre strike has been called off

Telugu cinema distributors and theatre owners have decided not to shelve cinema halls starting June 1. They feel that striking now is not going to help.

"Due to piracy, IPL matches, and the rise of OTT platforms, audience turnout in theaters has already declined significantly. With a series of movie releases lined up starting from the end of this month, the situation is expected to become even more challenging. Theaters were shut down over issues concerning digital service technology. Even shootings were halted over artist remuneration disputes. Those strikes didn't yield any results," is what they think.

The decision to call off the strike has been taken in view of so many important movies slated for release from the end of this month. Bhairavam (May 30), Thug Life (June 5), Hari Hara Veera Mallu (June 12), Kubera (June 20), and Kannappa (June 27) are slated to be released.
