Akkineni Nagarjuna, attending the WAVES Summit in Mumbai, commented that the disproportionately higher success of the Pushpa movies in the Hindi belt, compared to the Telugu belt, was because they offered something that the audience there had been craving. He said that the Allu Arjun movies didn't offer anything new to the Telugu audience.
"Both the Pushpa films made more money in the North than in Telugu. We (Telugu audience) have seen similar stories in Telugu before, like Pushpa, which has larger-than-life heroes," Nagarjuna said.
The Naa Saami Ranga actor added that movie-goers in states like Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, and Punjab have embraced the Baahubali movies, the KGF movies and the two Sukumar directorials with greater enthusiasm because they have always pined for thar "larger than life magic".
Nagarjuna, on the work front, is currently doing Kubera. The Sekhar Kammula directorial is fronted by Dhanush. The movie will hit the cinemas on June 20. He will be seen in an extended cameo in Rajinikanth's Coolie.
