NDTV mentioned that Raid 2 is worth just two stars. "The film, buttressed by the presence of Riteish Deshmukh as the antagonist, is a maze of facile contrivances. The outcome does not match the film's ambition and the performances, commendably restrained as they are, fail to offset the drudgery," the critic opined.
India Today wrote, "Even if you overlook the songs, the irrelevant characters, and the meandering narrative, you can't help but notice how Ajay Devgn never truly lets his character emerge as the hero of the film."
Rediff wrote, "Rajkumar Gupta's hammy treatment and bombastic score strips the realism to turn Raid 2 into another hail the hero exercise."
As per the Indian Express, "The Ajay Devgn-starrer is wrapped in such a strong whiff of sameness that the first half comes off entirely superfluous."
