Speaking at a 'Thanks Meet' on Saturday, actor Manchu Vishnu said that he had gambled away all his properties to ensure the release of Kannappa. The film didn't fetch any distribution rights on NRA basis. It was released on a commission basis all over.

Citing the risks involved, Vishnu stated that he had personally pledged all his properties to banks. "The properties in my name were pledged. There comes a point in one's life when you will have to put all your cards on the table," Vishnu said.

Vishnu said that he didn't make Kannappa for records. "I won't be revealing how much our movie is collecting. I will start mentioning box-office numbers when I act in a commercial movie," he commented.

Kannappa, on its day two, is showing a strong hold in Hyderabad city. The box-office status in other places is yet to be reported with finality. Going by Vishnu's sigh of relief, the film is doing well.
