Actor-director Sandeep Raaj has unconditionally apologized for a scene in his latest ETV Win Original, AIR. The contentious scene has allegedly offended a section of the Kamma community. The scene was on Saturday removed by the OTT platform.
In his social media post, Sandeep Raaj reminded the audience that he acted in Nandamuri Balakrishna's Daaku Maharaaj earlier this year. "The love I got in the name of tweets in January this year gave me immense confidence to do more and more beautiful work. But now, seeing the hatred from same accounts and same people, is definitely pinching my heart. Do I really deserve those compliments in January? DON’T KNOW. Do I really deserve this hatred in July? OBVIOUSLY YES," Sandeep wrote.
"I am not here to cover up things and support what we did. The audience are always right. If that particular scene hurted you, I am extremely sorry for being part of it. There is no hatred, no propoganda and no intent to target any community or religion," he clarified.
Sandeep Raaj promised that he will be more responsible while making content in the future.
