Uppu Kappurambu on OTT: How is Keerthy Suresh, Suhas' comedy?

Uppu Kappurambu, starring Keerthy Suresh and Suhas in leading roles, is currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video. The small-town comedy has received a host of negative takes.

Several reviews have mentioned that the film's execution, particularly in the first half, could have been better. The pacing is "uneven", and some scenes feel stretched or like "detours" from the main plot. The OTT release has also been questioned for its exaggerated elements. The comedic style, with its "cartoonish" and "over-the-top" characters and scenes, might not resonate with all viewers.

Some critics felt the narrative was crowded with too many characters who lacked significant roles, and multiple subplots made the film drag at times, leading to a loss of interest in the middle. While the main leads are praised, some supporting characters could have had "more emotional layering", reviews stated.

Even with a multi-lingual release plan (Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Malayalam, and Kannada) and a seemingly intriguing premise of a "coming-of-age satire" set in the fictional village of Chitti Jayapuram, public interest for Uppu Kappurambu remains notably low.
