A resident of Rajasthan has filed a fraud case against Hyundai Motors, its officials, and Bollywood actors Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone, alleging that he was sold a technically defective car. The complainant, Kirti Singh, has accused the company of deliberately misleading customers and has also named the brand ambassadors for their role in promoting the faulty model.
Reacting to the news, several netizens laughed. "Do you expect actors to do more research on a car more than your own road safety authorities that did technical inspections and deemed it safe?" asked commentator Abhijit Iyer-Mitra.
Om Shanti Om (2007), Chennai Express (2013), Happy New Year (2014), Pathaan (2023), and Jawan (2023) are their movies together. Deepika Padukone had a special appearance in Jawan. In Brahmastra: Part One - Shiva (2022), they both had cameo appearances.
