Why did Chiranjeevi not invite Balakrishna, others?: Natti Kumar

Producer Natti Kumar on Tuesday criticized Megastar Chiranjeevi for allegedly not taking the film industry along ahead of the scheduled meeting with YS Jaganmohan Reddy, the AP CM. On Monday, a host of big producers met at Chiru's residence. Not seen in the meeting were the likes of Nandamuri Balakrishna and representatives from the Film Chamber of Commerce and the Producers Council.

"I have a lot of respect for Chiranjeevi garu. But he shouldn't be doing this. Does he not remember small producers? Why were the leadership from the Producers Council and the Film Chamber not invited? It's because of the prevailing ticket rates in Andhra Pradesh that films like 'Thimmarusu' and 'SR Kalyanamandapam' have done well," Natti Kumar opined.

He added that the AP government shouldn't roll back its GO on the caps on the ticket prices. "The film industry is not just the artists. There are 24 crafts in total. Only big producers were seen at Chiranjeevi garu's meeting," Natti Kumar added.

He said that theatres are yet to receive the waiver of fixed electricity charges announced last year for the lockdown period. "I have been hearing about the demand for five shows per day. It hasn't become a reality to this day. Telangana has announced a cinema hub. What about AP?" he asked.

Natti Kumar said that the previous assurances given in the presence of Chiranjeevi and others are yet to be implemented by the government.
