The team behind Funky, starring Vishwak Sen and Kayadu Lohar under the direction of KV Anudeep, have expressed immense satisfaction and relief during the first press meet held shortly after its theatrical debut today.
Producer Suryadevara Naga Vamsi said that distributors have been giving him positive feedback. "I hope you all watched Funky without being influenced by anything. I have always been saying that Funky is a silly film. You don't become a scientist if you discover it as one. I didn't believe that reviews won't be mixed. We set out to keep the audience laughing. Distributors feel that the mother's emotion in the second half is particularly touching. This Maha Shivaratri, if you watch our movie in theatres, you will surely be satisfied. Anudeep completed the project on a controlled budget.
Vishwak Sen shared that while pressure is natural before any film's release, he felt remarkably composed ahead of Funky. He recounted watching the movie this morning alongside the audience at a single screen in Hyderabad, where viewers thoroughly enjoyed it from start to finish. The hero praised director Anudeep for crafting a breezy entertainer perfect for families to watch and laugh together, adding that the overwhelmingly positive response from all sections of the audience had brought him great relief. He described doing a film like Funky at this point in his career as a source of immense personal happiness.
Actress Kayadu Lohar, who plays a film producer, echoed similar sentiments. She noted that she and the team had also witnessed the morning show with the public. She mentioned how rewarding it was to see the audience laughing heartily and relishing every joke, and extended heartfelt thanks to viewers for showering the film with so much love and affection.
Anudeep explained the core vision behind the project, stating that they had intentionally created Funky as a family entertainer meant to be enjoyed collectively. He pointed out that beyond its comedy foundation, the film features a well-developed love story and touching emotional moments.
With music by Bheems Ceciroleo, Funky co-stars Sampath Raj, VK Naresh, Easwari Rao, Muralidhar Goud, Raghu Babu and others.
