Ranbir Kapoor celebrates Rani Mukerji’s 30-year legacy ahead of Mardaani 3

Rani Mukerji’s landmark 30th year in cinema has been celebrated by her Bollywood colleagues. Incidentally, her 30th year in cinema coincides with the release of Mardaani 3.

So, who all are raising a toast to the versatile actress? Among the loudest voices cheering for her is Animal superstar Ranbir Kapoor, who expressed immense joy at seeing her honored by the entire fraternity. Having shared the screen with her during his debut in Saawariya (directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali), the Sanju actor continues to root for her success with every performance.

Ranbir today shared that Rani was his very first co-star and the first person to offer him the pivotal encouragement that he would go a long way if he dedicated himself to hard work. He noted that he will never forget that specific interaction, as it provided him with a necessary surge of confidence at the start of his career. Having observed her both as a person and an artist, he admitted to being consistently impressed by her grace, charm, and sheer brilliance on set.

Ranbir remarked on how incredible it is to witness the industry celebrate her three-decade legacy. He described Rani as an actor "for the ages." He categorized her as one of the greatest performers India has ever produced. As per him, she has redefined the film industry through her work.

According to Ranbir, her deliberate choice of projects and roles has been instrumental in shaping the contemporary portrayal of women on the silver screen. He probably has Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna, Veer-Zaara, Mardaani, and Mardaani 2 in mind.

Ranbir revealed that Rani’s primary motivation remains spreading joy through her craft. He offered his gratitude for the movies, memories, and nostalgia she has created. "She is a powerhouse performer and a dedicated entertainer," Ranbir added.

Mardaani 3 will head to theatres on January 30. Directed by Abhiraj Minawala and produced by Aditya Chopra, this project features a story penned by the trio of Aayush Gupta, Deepak Kingrani, and Baljeet Singh Marwah. For the film's high-energy sequences, Sunil Rodrigues (ROD) and Parvez Shaikh served as the action directors. Rani Mukerji plays a tough cop named Shivani Shivaji Roy.
