K-Ramp, released in theatres on Saturday, has grossed Rs 4.5 Cr on Day 1. The team behind the comedy entertainer have called it a "blockbuster" debut at the box office. Last Diwali, Kiran Abbavaram's KA took a similarly above-par opening.
The makers are counting on the film's comedy quotient, the laughs particularly in the second half, and the youthful vibe to help the film soar. "This is a festival release meant to entertain the audience. The Theaters are packed. Massy stuff with boisterous comedy has been missed by the audience. K-Ramp has been made to fill the void," Kiran said hours after the movie's release.
Producer Rajesh Danda said that K-Ramp is a review-proof movie. Helmed by Jains Nani and starring Yukti Thareja as a woman traumatized by loss, the film has important roles by VK Naresh and Sai Kumar. Vennela Kishore and Muralidhar Goud have more scenes in the second half. Chaitan Bharadwaj is the music director.
