Despite disaster, Sreeleela bags an important movie

In the recent Tamil-language movie Parasakthi, Sreeleela was seen as Ratnamala, Secretary of the Anti-Hindi Imposition Students Council. The film, headlined by Sivakarthikeyan, was a disaster at the box office. Commentators speculated that the actress' Kollywood career had been halted by the Sudha Kongara directorial. (Notably, its Telugu release didn't even happen because it had no takers)

In a twist, on Saturday, the star heroine was confirmed to play the female lead in an upcoming Dhanush movie, to be released in theatres later this year. This one will be helmed by Rajkumar Periyasamy of Amaran fame. Earlier, Sai Pallavi was speculated to bag it.

Last year, Sreeleela was seen in two Tollywood disasters: Ravi Teja's Mass Jathara and Nithiin's Robinhood. Earlier, her Telugu career was weakened by flops like Extra Ordinary Man, Aadikeshava, Skanda, and Guntur Kaaram. This year, besides the Dhanush-starrer, she will also be seen in Pawan Kalyan's Ustaad Bhagat Singh.
