Medium-range and small heroes have no option but to work with new directors. There are hardly 5-6 star filmmakers, who always seek to work with A-listers. That leaves the rest of 20 heroes to work with either debutants or second-time filmmakers.
Let's analyze Nani's career. Nandini Reddy (Ala Modalaindi) was a newcomer. Nag Ashwin (Yevade Subrahmanyam) was a debutant. Even after hits like Bhale Bhale Mogadivoy, MCA and Nenu Local, as recently as in 2023, Nani teamed up with two debutants - Srikanth Odela (Dasara) and Shouryuv (Hi Nanna). Imagine how silly it would have been had he been congratulated for choosing to work with Nandini and Nag Ashwin when he had no star image. He had no choice, because the likes of Trivikram and VV Vinayak were not interested in him. Kiran Abbavaram is in a similar position. The day he becomes a star hero and has the privilege of choosing A-list directors, he will have to be praised if he picks a promising newcomer over Anil Ravipudi and Gopichand Malineni.
