Rowdy Janardhana: Vijay Deverakonda plays a wounded, flawed, angry male

Based on the emotional weight and specific language in director Ravi Kiran Kola's message about Rowdy Janardhana, he isn't just making a movie; he is performing an act of catharsis. The project, headlined by Vijay Deverakonda, feels like a deeply intimate character study. Perhaps, it's also a crypto-autobiographical movie from Kola.

Produced by Dil Raju and Shirish of Sri Venkateswara Creations, the film has the Kingdom actor as a wounded and flawed protagonist. “I have been waiting for a long time to tell this story about a man. I found him in my memory. He is very personal, and I’ve watched him and grown up seeing him. He is not perfect, but he is real. Flawed, angry, wounded - and more than I hated him, I loved him. This story had to be told. You will meet him," Kola says. The goal of the film isn't to make the character likable, but to make him understood. It’s the kind of film where the "villain" and the "hero" are the same person.

A title glimpse will be out on December 22nd at 07:29 PM.

Currently under production, Rowdy Janardhana will be a 2026 release.
