Vrusshabha may be a spectacle movie with grand visuals and events, but a father-son track is its "heartbeat". Releasing an emotional song titled Appa, composed by Sam CS, the makers of the Mohanlal-starrer have talked about its significance to the story of the Christmas release.
The song, sung by Vijay Prakash and written by Kalyan Chakravarthy T, embodies a "powerful, emotional relationship between a father and son". As per director Nanda Kishore, Appa is just the beginning of a marathon musical journey of Vrusshabha. "Stories about fathers are often left untold, and this one deserved to be heard and felt," he observes.
Released on T-Series, the song forms the "emotional backbone" of the multi-lingual release. Composer Sam CS could get into the intended mood as soon as the director narrated the situation and the emotional weight Appa is supposed to carry. "It's so personal and familiar. I felt all the more responsible because someone like Mohanlal sir features in it. His very presence makes the song even more profound. Since the director was clear about what he wanted the song to convey, I could infuse it with musical warmth," Sam says.
Vrusshabha co-stars Samarjit Lankesh, Ragini Dwivedi, Nayan Sarika, Ajay, Neha Saxena, Garuda Ram, Vinay Verma, Ali, and Ayyappa P. Sharma. The direction of photography is taken care of by Antony Samson. Resul Pookutty and Vijay Kumar have taken care of sound design. Nanditha Singh and Mohan B. Kere have done the production design. With Peter Hein, Stunt Silva, and Nikhil mounting the action scenes, expect force in each shot. The film will head to theatres on December 25.
