The other day, at a Diwali bash he hosted, Bandla Ganesh publicly predicted that Teja Sajja will reach the kind of peaks Allu Arjun has. "Take it from me," the producer announced. Ironically, only a few days earlier, Ganesh asked another budding actor (read Mouli Thanuj of Little Hearts fame) not to be carried away by people's insincere applause. One hopes the Mirai actor sees Ganesh's prediction about him as just that - insincere.
With Dude becoming a hit at the box office, many on social media have started sharing the view that Pradeep Ranganathan is poised to become bigger than Dhanush. This is the kind of opinion-formation one saw when Uday Kiran delivered back-to-back hits in the early 2000s. At that time, though, social media was non-existent and it is possible that Uday Kiran didn't get to directly listen to unrealistic elevations. In the age of social media, it is impossible for most stars to not be influenced by extreme praises. With trends changing every two-three years, it is ridiculous to say Pradeep will outshine Dhanush, who comes with a terrific body of work spanning 25 years.
It will be a challenge for the likes of Teja Sajja and Pradeep Ranganathan to stay grounded.
