Sakshi Vaidya, a trained physiotherapist who has previously acted in Agent and Gandeevadhari Arjuna, awaits the release of Nari Nari Naduma Murari this Sankranthi (January 14). In this interview, the heroine talks about acting in the Sharwanand-starring family entertainer.
"I wanted the Telugu audience to see a new side to my acting," Sakshi says.
Even when I was doing Agent, producer Anil Sunkara promised me a second project. In keeping with his promise, he offered me a role in NNNM. I was cast for the character of Nithya in consultation with the director. I personally relate to this character a lot. She looks like an innocent girl and is very honest. I participated in acting workshops for one month, during which I got to learn a lot about the character.
The story is a rollercoaster ride that involves emotional depth. That said, comedy is the forte of NNNM. Working with Sharwanand was a joy. His comedy timing is spot-on, which made it easy to work with him. All the co-actors were fun to work with. Watching Vennela Kishore’s performance during the shoot was quite surprising, because when he was in character, he looked like a completely different person. VK Naresh's character is going to be entertaining.
Speaking Telugu was initially a challenge, but there was thorough preparation for the dialogues. The director paid close attention to timing, gave me ample time, and was very supportive throughout. I have combination scenes with Samyuktha; she was a sweet co-star.
Ram Abbaraju's strength is comedy. Even during the shoot, he is very fun-loving and cheerful, always laughing. That reflects in the film as well. Thanks to the music, everything will seem all the more fresh.
The film shoot was very fun-filled. Shooting in Kerala was a fun experience. The entire shooting process was very enjoyable, and that same fun has translated onto the screen. Every character is fun to watch although each one of them is honest to themselves.
I am a fan of light-hearted movies. Rom-coms, thrillers, love stories, and comedy dramas are my personal favourites.
I never dreamt of being an actor. I was studious in school. As a child, I used to be the last one when it came to dancing. Just good looks don't make you an actor. Only after I participated in acting workshops and people started believing in me did I start taking acting seriously. A lot of people have told me I look like Ileana (smiles).
