Ram Gopal Varma’s new horror thriller ‘Boochi’ (Bhoot Returns in Hindi) is all set to hit theatres worldwide in Telugu and Hindi on this Friday, the 12th October. For the first time in his career RGV made a film in 3D format. Hence the audience can watch this horror thriller in both 2D as well as 3D versions. Jitendra Jain has produced the film on Alumbra Entertainment banner with music by Saleem Sulaiman. The film stars Manisha Koirala, J D Chakravarthy, Madhu Shalini and Alayana Sharma in central roles. Harshraj Shroff and M Ravichandran Thevar handled the camera. Sunil M Wadhwani did the editing work. On the eve of the film’s release on Friday, a 15 minute preview was screened at Cinemax theatre today followed by a press meet in which Ram Gopal Varma, J D Chakravarthy, Madhu Shalini and Manisha Koirala participated.

Ram Gopal Varma said, “I love to scare people right from my childhood. The word ‘Boochi’ is normally used by every mother to scare her children. Hence the title ‘Boochi’ was selected for this film. It’s the story of a Boochi named Shabbu. We have seen elders scaring the children. But this film will showcase how a small girl will scare the elder people. As per my opinion it will be more effective if the children scare the elders. This is my first 3D film. We shot the entire film in 3D format and we are releasing the film on 12th October.” When asked if he would get scared of ghosts, he replied saying, “When I’m a ghost myself, how will I get scared of ghosts. I will believe ghost but not God because ghost creates sound but we don’t see or hear anything from God.”

J D Chakravarthy said, “I watched the entire film and it’s very thrilling with different sound effects. The audience would generally experience the fear in horror films through background score. However Ram Gopal Varma tried a different method in this film. He created the fear with silent scenes. Those scenes have scared me a lot. It’s really a thrilling experience working with Ram Gopal Varma garu.”

Manisha Koirala said, “This is my second film with Varma. It’s a great experience working with him. I got very scared during the shooting period. One should watch the film to know who is Shabbu and how Boochi look like.”
