Sathiga of ‘Nenjil Thunivirundhal’ fame shares her experience

The film industry has always witnessed actors of two classifications. One among them achieves overnight stardom and there is another, where they scale success gradually. Actress Shathiga happens to be the one from latter aspect. She is now on cloud nine for getting good reception on her performance in recent release ‘Nenjil Thunivirundhal’. Despites not playing the female lead role in this film, she has garnered everyone’s attention with the entire film revolving her character.

There happens to be a stereotypical fact while trying to ask about an actress’ biography. But Sadhika happens to be a blunt exception. She has completed her graduation of B.Tech in Loyola and is current pursuing MBA.

She has faced the camera before even before she started uttering words as a baby. She was exactly 2 years old, when she made her first appearance before camera for a TV serial ‘Mangai’. Shathiga made her debut in cinema through Seeman’s directorial ‘Veera Nadai’ at the same age. Aftermath, she was seen in many movies as child artist playing the baby girl of many leading actors and shot to bigger fame essaying the role of Vijay’s younger sister in ‘Kuruvi’. The actress has now completed 30 films in her filmography, which has given her a wide range of experience.

She has simultaneously working on many TV screens including all time blockbuster TV series ‘Chiththi’ and has even dubbed for several child artists. She holds an important attention for ‘En Veettu Mutrathil Oru Maamaram’ happens to be the only Tamil short film to get screened at Berlin International Film Festival.

Sharing her experience working with filmmaker Suseenthiran in ‘Nenjil Thunivirundhal’, she says, “Although, I have acted in films from childhood, I gained good recognition through Suseenthiran sir’s Naan Mahaan Alla. Everyone got to appreciate me as an actress and from then, I have become a company artist to him. There are few others like me of the same category, who are like company artist to him. Whenever sir calls me, I would instantly go to the shooting spot and only then my role would be revealed by him. He would make sure that even any role is minimal in duration that definitely gets an attention. Such was my characterization in the films like Naan Mahaan Alla, younger sister to Vishal in Paayum Puli, friend to Sri Divya in Maaveeran Kittu and now in Nenjil Thunivirundhal.”

Speaking about her ambitious desire in films, Shathiga says that she is confident that good roles will come to her and her self-confidence is so much radiant.
