Paramaveera Chakra – Brings back memories of Yester Years

‘Paramaveera Chakra’ is the prestigious film for Balakrishna that took shape in the hands of Darsakaratna Dasari Narayana Rao. It’s a patriotic film in which Balakrishna donned dual role – one as Army officer and the other as himself (film star). As a film star in the movie, he will be mainly seen in two getups. They are Komaram Bheem and Ravana Brahma. A song on Komaram Bheem and a poem involving Ravana Brahma was written in this film. Mani Sharma composed the music, while lyrics are penned by Suddala Ashok Teja, Ananth Sriram, Ramajogayya Sastry, Sahiti, Dasari Narayana Rao and Jonnavittula. Vocals are rendered by SP Balasubrahmaniam, Vandemataram Srinivas, Sri Krishna, Sunitha, Hemachandra, Malavika, Mano and Malathi. Now, let’s rejoice this album which has been created by so many experienced contributors.
Lokana Chikatini Music: Manisharma Lyrics: Suddala Ashok Teja Singer: S.P. Balasubrahmanyam, Vandemataram Srinivas, Sri Krishna
‘Lokaana Chikatini’ was composed by Mani Sharma in typical Dasari style. The song is pretty interesting and depicts Komaram Bheem’s movement for separate Telangana. Sung by SPB, Vandemataram Srinivas and Sri Krishna, this song takes us back to the 80s. Balakrishna portrays Komaram Bheem in this song and his stills in Komaram Bheem’s getup are simply amazing. No doubt, he would have certainly done a fantastic job in that role. Lyrics written by Suddala Ashok Teja are very powerful and thought provoking. The song tells about the spirit of Telangana movement led by revolutionary freedom fighter Komaram Bheem.
Mitra Mitra (1) Music: Manisharma Lyrics: Ananth Sriram Singer: S.P. Balasubrahmanyam, Sunitha
‘Mitra Mitra Vishwamitra…Putra Putra Kshatriya Putra’ is a romantic duet sung by Sunitha and SP Balasubrahmanyam. What can I say about the expert singers who always bring a deep feel to any song! Mani Sharma composed this song with simple rhythm and good beat. Lyrics written by Ananth Sriram are influenced by fantasy literature which is aptly suitable for Balakrishna’s characterization in this flick. It also appears that this song was specially designed for Balakrishna as its rhythmic style was exhibited most prominently in his earlier films also. Overall, the lyrics, vocals and the rhythmic style attracted my attention. Simply superb!!!
Arjuna Phalguna Music: Manisharma Lyrics: Ramajogayya Sastry Singer: Hemachandra, Malavika
Wow! This song starts with beautiful sitara strings. ‘Arjuna Phalguna’ is yet another romantic duet beautifully sung by Malavika and Hemachandra. The singers’ expressive vocal style has brought a genuinely deep feel to this romantic song. The chorus also has a wonderful vocal range. The lyrics to this song were written by Ramajogayya Sastry. This is definitely one of my favourite songs in this album and I would love all the wonderful imaginary in this melody.
My Kya Karu Music: Manisharma Lyrics: Sahithi Singer: Hemachandra, Malavika
Wow! After mesmerizing you into the sweet romantic mood, here comes Hemachandra and Malavika to take you back to the dance music with nice rhythmic beats. This catchy dance track ‘My Kya Karu Bolo Kya Karu’ is sure to stay in your head for quite some time. The duo is known for many such mass beat energetic songs. The vocals, chorus and beats are catchy and at the same time lyrics too!!! Mani Sharma keeps the beat catchy throughout. Its fantastic……absolutely love it! Enjoy!!!
Ekka Ekka Music: Manisharma Lyrics: Dasari Narayanarao Singer: Mano, Malathi
‘Ekka Ekka’ is also a mass song that takes you back to 70s. 70s songs has a strange combination, romantically forward, yet innocent. This old fashioned song is written by Dasari himself to take us back in our mind, to a time where our memories all come from. This good old fashioned song with foot tapping beats is a good time song. Mano and Malathi sings it with zeal and makes you want to sing and dance along. Mani Sharma did an awesome job, Yeeha!!!
Thalli Kadupulo Music: Manisharma Lyrics: Dasari Narayanarao Singer: S.P. Balasubrahmanyam, Chorus
This song is also written by Dasari Narayana Rao. The lyrics ‘Thalli Kadupulo Perigina Bidda, Thalli Paalanu Thaagina Bidda, Thalli Gundepai Edhigina Bidda, Bhoomi Thalliki Jawanu Kaavali, Kanna Thalliki Jai Anaali….Jayahe Jayahe Jayahe Jayahe….Jai Hind Jai Hind’ are very heart touching. SP Balasubrahmaniam renders vocals for this prestigious patriotic song that opens your mind and makes you think. This is one of the most inspirational patriotic songs neatly composed by Mani Sharma. Do listen to this track.
Ramudainanu (Padyam) Music: Manisharma Lyrics: Jonnavittula Singer: Mano
‘Ramudainanu’ is the heroic and mythological poem written by Jonnavittula and delivered by Mano. This poem is said by Balakrishna in the role of Ravana Brahma. It’s really going to be a feast for old mythological film lovers because Balayya Babu will take them back to that age and reminds them legends like NTR and SVR.
Mitra Mitra (2) Music: Manisharma Lyrics: Ananth Sriram Singer: S.P. Balasubrahmanyam, Sunitha
This is the repeat version of ‘Mitra Mitra Vishwamitra’ sung by SP Balasubrahmanyam and Sunita. I love the lyrics and its tune, and simply wanna to listen to this track as many times as possible.
After a very very long time I found this album which really quenched my thirst for typical Telugu songs. Do you wish to go back to olden days? Well, then just listen to the music of ‘Paramaveera Chakra’.
