BPW International Chapter - Leadership talk by Ms Renuka Chowdhury

The International Federation of Business and Professional Women (BPW) International contribute to society by enabling women to sustain themselves economically, professionally in reaching Pinnacles. Women Empowerment is one of the prime Agendas of the organization. A talk was organized by Smt. Renuka Choudhary who has served as the union minister earlier in various capacities. She has been the true example of a woman leader who motivated the audience with her powerful speech on leadership.

Bpw chairperson ms Nafeesa Ismail also made a presentation to audience and also added that women should use this platform not only to empower themselves but also use this forum for business networking. She also welcomed women to be a part of this organisation to avail the opportunities to empower themselves.

In Regards to the same we are coming up with first Leadership Programme,as Leadership is all about having a vision and influencing and inspiring the team or people around to reach the same and is essential for everyone who wants to be an achiever,Ledership programme will comprise of competencies a women should have to lead,how should she be shaping and refining her thought process,the challenges and also tips on how to start a political career for women aspirers.

The International Federation of Business and Professional Women (BPW International) founded by Dr. Lena Madesin Phillips in 1930 has become one of the most influential international networks of business and proffessional women with affiliates in 99 countries in five continents.BPW has consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC)UNO and participatory status with the Council of Europe. Its members include influential women leaders, entrepreneurs, business owners, executives, professionals and young career women,senators,community Leaders. The root of BPW’s advocacy is embedded in the work with the United Nations.

The most important is India not having utilised the platform of BPW for its women members since 88yrs,we have started the Hyderabad chapter.

BPW projects assist women to: Enter and re-enter the workforce, Start up and advance their business or profession, Protect their rights, Overcome their limitations and Create a nurturing environment in work, education, health for women development.

BPW International is giving high priority to create opportunities for women to rise to the level of top executives by collecting evidence on the return on investment when women become top executives. The aim is to use this testimony to persuade the relevant stakeholders such as companies, institutions, academia and governments that they would perform better if the percentage of females at top executive level increased and reached a par with men.
