"Multiple Sclerosis is a disease that is not very much known to people. It is basically an inflammatory disease in which the protective cover of nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord are damaged. This affects the ability of the nervous system to function properly, due to which the simplest daily functions can no longer be performed efficiently. This walk is an innovative way of creating awareness among the public." said The Multiple Sclerosis Society of India (MSSI) as a charitable non-profit voluntary organization. MSSI Hyderabad Chapter was started on 4th September 2005 by passionate individuals who work towards reducing the pain and suffering of MS affected people by providing services to help them deal with the daily challenges and improve their quality of life.

"I am honored by the privilege to flag the "MS AWARENESS WALK". It gives me immense pleasure to be a part of this cause. Only when people are aware they can actually know more about the diseases medication and steps to be followed for taking care of people effected around them." said Shruti Kurien, National Badminton Champion.
