HID-HRC Hafele Design Awards 2014

The HID HRC - HAFELE DESIGN AWARDS is an annual event that honors excellence in the field of Interior design in the states of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.

The 10th Design Awards Nite was a star studded show that was held amongst much fanfare on July 25th at the Cyber City Convention Centre. The Chief Guest for the occasion was Telangana's Hon. Minister for Irrigation, Mining & Geology, Marketing & Legislative Affairs, Sri. T. Harish Rao.

The Design Awards is one of the flagship events of the organization that recognizes the creative and successful talent from across the two states and encourages upcoming designers.

On this momentous occasion, IIID-HRC past chairman, Ar.Gururaj Manepalli was conferred with the Lifetime achievement award for his meritorious contribution to the field of architecture and interior design. The dynamic actor-architect recently took over as Chairman of the IIA Telangana Chapter.

The much awaited Insider-X 2016 Mega Design Showcase was formally unveiled, signaling the launch of registrations for the Expo, to be held from February 5 -7, 2016.

It is to be remembered that the Hyderabad Chapter was recently in the news for organising the Insider-X 2015, the first of its kind Design showcase in Hyderabad that was an exclusive B2B event for the interior design, architecture and construction industry.

The evening saw the magazine release of the Insider, the Hyderabad Chapter's popular quarterly newsletter.

A cheque was handed over to JNAFAU towards scholarships for deserving students, one of the CSR initiatives of the Chapter. Says Chairperson Sona Chatwani, "Apart from our student scholarships and education programs, one of our other important CSR projects is the revival of the rich art and craft industry of Telangana. We are actively promoting our regional handicrafts through hand-painted gifts and memorabilia.

We look forward to putting our Telangana craft tradition on the national and international cultural radar."

The Institute of Indian Interior Designers is the premier body for interior designers in India and comprises of architects, interior designers, design affiliated academicians and trade fraternity.

The objective of the guild is to bring all the stake holders of the Design profession on a single platform with a view to streamline processes, share ideas and disseminate information about emerging trends in the industry.

From its inception in 1996, The Hyderabad Regional Chapter (HRC) with its 400+ strength has been one of the more dynamic and vibrant regional committees of the country and has been involved in several interesting initiatives and workshops, that seek to increase the level of professional engagement within the industry.

Over the past year, the Chapter has brought several leading architects and interior designers to Hyderabad including scenographer Rajeev Sethi, Hafeez Contractor, Habeeb Khan and Sandeep Khosla for workshops and seminars. A unique quiz format for the Design vertical called the Archumen IDQ and the famous Pecha Kucha were events that saw an interesting face-off between the professional and the academia.

At the well attended glitzy Awards ceremony, Hyderabad's famous celebrities, eminent architects and designers were seen exchanging notes over cocktails and dinner.
