The Friendship and the No.l Friendzy round was a fun-filled night out where karaoke lovers came together in large numbers crooning their favorite numbers at Hyderabad's hippest spot as part of the McDowell’s No. 1 Karaoke World Championship South Zonal finale. Reaching out to a packed house of 250 people, the karaoke nights proved to be a huge success by bringing in a lot of energy, live wire entertainment and some serious competition. Inviting celebrities and judges like Remo Fernandez, Need Mohan (Singer) and Jimmy Felix (music professional) attracted a lot of participation from the people and gave them a good reason to bring out their talent and make their voices heard. The competition had both, solo and a McDowell's No. 1 Karaoke Friendzy Round which gives a chance to a group of friends to accompany the ultimate winners (1M & 1F). The world finale of this unique event will be in the last week of November in Finland.

The winners of the event proved a point to everyone by showing off their skills and talent in the final round and deservedly they have won a trip to Finland to take over the global platform. The success of the event brought an uplifting response! Taking forward the excitement, it is now time to take the Karaoke success to the next step by going into the finale on the 7th of October.

For the second time in India, the search for the first 'McDowell's No. 1 Karaoke World Champion' (KWC) has begun! India debuted as one of the thirty participating countries in the prestigious, international karaoke event - McDowell's No. 1 Karaoke World Championship powered by Nokia LUMIA' (http://www.kwcindia.com/> last year and this second year has proven to be more successful and larger than the first.

During the course of the championship, some of the 20 participants selected songs from Nokia's Karaoke collection available on the Nokia Music Store. In one such round, the contestants specially sang using a Nokia Lumia 900. The championship enabled music aficionados to experience Nokia Music Store's diverse collection of over 45 lakh songs across 26 genres.

The Karaoke World Championships (http://www.kwc.com) are conducted annually every August/September, drawing participation globally to battle for the World Championship Title. The member countries conduct local and national karaoke competitions and send winners to participate in the Karaoke World Championships (KWC). This year the Karaoke Worid Championship will take place in Finland 2012. Tourism Finland, India has come on board as a partner to this event. As the world championship is hosted by Finland, this is a great way to promote Finland through this event.

Brought to India by Savio D’Sa and Lalit Kewalramani in association with Nash Events, the Indian KWC city trials was held in various Indian cities including Mumbai, Pune, Delhi, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Goa, Kolkata and Nagpur. Winners of City Trials have qualified for the Zonal Finals and three Zonal Finalists from each zone will get to compete for the McDowell No. 1 Karaoke World Championship Indian Grand Finale title, on the 7th of October, 2012 in Mumbai.

Two winners (One Male & One Female) will represent India at the Karaoke World Championships, 2012 in Finland, winning (in addition to gift hampers and the McDowell's Championship Trophy) including free flight and accommodation, to fight for the Karaoke World Champion 2012 title. The World Champions will win huge cash and sponsor prizes in addition to an international recording deal!
