Poola Bathukamma Sambaralu by Chennai Silks, Kukatpally

Celebrating Telangana’s auspicious Bathukamma festival, The Chennai Silks, for the very first time, present a unique Poola Bathukamma™ created using Telangana weaves and fresh wild flowers at their showroom in Y-Junction, Kukatpally. The unique Poola Bathukamma™ has been designed by India’s popular designer, Shravan Kumar.

Shravan Kumar explaining his creation, states, “/ am grateful to have this opportunity to present to this epoch, Telangana’s Goddess in the most incomparable way, using Telangana weaves and tagar ki jali, as a true representation of our culture and history

This unique presentation of Telangana’s Goddess was inaugurated by Mr. Jayesh Ranjan, Principal Secretary to Government Industries and Commerce (Tex) and Mr. P.K Aroomugam, Chairman and Managing Directory of The Chennai Silks.

The Chairman and Managing Director of The Chennai Silks, Mr. P.K.Aroomugam, stated, |The city of Hyderabad has given The Chennai Silks a warm and gracious welcome, and we are delighted to celebrate Bathukamma, the State festival, and inculcate the culture and traditions of Telangana. We wish to continue this tradition of Poola Bathukamma, using Telangana weaves, annually”

About Chennai Silks

From a humble weaving unit to emerging as Asia’s largest textile kingdom with a 56 year legacy, the grand future of The Chennai Silks envisioned by its founder Thiru. A. Kulandaivel Mudalier has come to an awe-inspiring realization today. With over 50,000 employees, the conglomerate is famous for all the leading names renowed for quality silk sarees, like Kanchipuram, Benarisi, Ami and Pochampalli.

Apart from being a successful group, they have evolved as a socially responsible corporate citizen by installing 56 windmills to harness green power that meets a major percentage of the electricity needed. They are also producing 8MW of Solar Power. The Group runs a CBSE school and a hospital at Tripura, as a part of their CSR. The Group has been recognized by the Guinness and Limca Book of Records of producing a Silk saree that features reproduction of 11 paintings by the much celebrated Indian artist, Raja Ravi Varma.
