River of wings - A collective imagination II

A group exhibition of four aspiring student-artists of Indus International School, Hyderabad.

The Kalakriti Art Gallery presents a group exhibition showcasing a collage of delicate colors and symphony of young voices of four aspiring student-artists of Indus International School, Hyderabad. Participating students: Jyotsna Velivela, Nandita Srija, Ujwal Kartik Mantha, Saranya Settipalli, the show is been curated by Ms. Piu Mahapatra, IBDP facilitator and guide.

The exhibition is inaugurated by the renowned artist of Hyderabad, Ms. Anjani Reddy and The President of the Telangana Art society, Mr. Ramana Reddy followed by a lamp lighting ceremony and art talk with a board of panelist consisting of eminent artists, lecturers of University of Hyderabad, contemporary curator and young entrepreneur like Tanmay Santra, Sunil Lohar, Faiza Haan and Supriya Lahoti

Concept:

The ongoing show brings forth the works of the students pursuing their diploma in visual arts, Indus International School, Hyderabad. Mentored by Ms. Piu Mahapatra have worked on various themes and have come up with visual array of thoughts which are deeply connected and rooted with their chore concepts.

Saranya Settipalli through her imageries have tried to create an awareness among the viewers about the painful aspects of reality where each day a patch of green is taken away in name of development and growth. Through her theme , 'Giving tree', Saranya tries to reestablish the harmony of living and sharing between trees and human by probing critical questions to the audience on their very role in sustaining ecology and balance. As an aware global citizen, the young artist takes the ownership of initiating the change where she spreads among her audience the 'Seeds of hope and harmony', a bunch of handprinted greetings cards carrying along the local flowering seeds" Nuvvulu' to promote planting and discourage the marginalization of trees.
