Speaking on the project Vinay Solipuram (First year student of the IB Diploma Program, studying English Language and Literature, Economics and Psychology at Higher Level). This year I am the project manager for an NGO called “The Theory of Change” which works to provide proper sanitation in government schools. When I learned that close to 60% of Indians don’t have access to proper sanitation, it was a shock and made me want to bring that percentage down. This year we decided to host an “Embracing India” Fundraiser which we hosted in partnership with the Rotary Club of Cyberabad to help raise funds.
The money raised will now be allocated to help government schools gain proper sanitation. I believe that sanitation is one of the most important aspects behind a developed nation, and by being a part of Theory of Change I hope to help move towards an improvement in sanitation in India. Vinay Solipuram added.
Speaking on the same TEAM MEMBERS Theory of Change “After observing government school children in Hyderabad, India, we realized the schools were missing basic water supply and bathrooms, and many schools lacked hygiene and sanitation. We started to make a conscious effort to help children understand the importance of hygiene and sanitation. Our strategy includes involving the new generation and aims to spread awareness through educational campaigns and events. The Theory of Change is an initiative to solve the issue of sanitation.
